We had a great afternoon at the zoo today! The grizzly bears AND the river otters were playing and swimming in the water, which is so much fun to watch (of course I didn't get any pictures of them). We tried to the feed the giraffes, but the zoo was so crowded, they didn't want to eat our crackers. They were probably already full. Hannah fed the budgies again - and they DID want to eat, even though there were lots of kids feeding them too. Too bad we decided to go to the zoo sort of on the spur of the moment, so we didn't have time to set up an appointment at the Giraffe Cam, so Steve could take an online picture of us at the webcam. We all had a really fun time.

And Hannah was such a good girl we stopped for ice cream on the way home.

Hannah's Shopping List

The other day I was getting ready to go to the grocery store. So as I was putting on my shoes, I asked Hannah to try to think of things we needed. I had the shopping list on the kitchen table, and when I came through the kitchen, she said, "I thought of what we need, Mommy, and I wrote it down on the list!" Here is the list, with her addition at the bottom:



I had to break it to her that we couldn't get a dog at the grocery store. And that, anyway, we were going to plan it with Daddy and go to the doggie shelter and pick out one that was just right for our family. But I did tell her it was a great idea. I may end up having this list laminated!

Another Birthday Party!

Hannah has been to more parties in the last couple of months than I've probably been to in the last decade! She went to another birthday party yesterday, for Clint's cousin Remi (so Hannah and Remi are related somehow, but I'm not sure how). The party was at My Gym, and Hannah had a lot of fun even though Remi was the only other kid she knew there. It was Remi's fifth birthday, which reminds me that Hannah's fifth birthday will be this July. Hard to believe!

After the party, Lindsey and got to go on a date because JoJo and Clint took Hannah for the evening. We went to dinner at Blue Star (paid for by a gift certificate) and to "Slumdog Millionaire" at Kimball's Twin Peaks. Dinner was fabulous, and it's so different to go out to dinner without having a four year old along! The movie was very good. Not your average Hollywood blockbuster, but it held your interest from the first scene to the last. The poverty and cruelty were incredibly disturbing, but it had a great feel-good ending. And of course, what would a Bollywood movie be without dancing and singing?
