Why would anyone have three dogs on purpose?

So a few weeks ago, we were walking around at Pridefest, enjoying the different booths and the music and fun. We walked past this woman who had a darling little dog that Hannah fell in love with. Turns out he was with Dreampower (dog rescue group) and the woman was his "foster mom". We started talking to her about him, and I just knew we were going to end up taking him home with us.

His foster mom has been calling him Buddy, so we decided to call him that until Hannah came up with another name that we could ALL live with (no, Hannah, we're not calling him Beazel Nut). But so far it's just been Buddy - and I think that's going to be his permanent name.

So far he's petrified of Jazz and Mel (well, they ARE over 70 pounds each, and still puppy-like), and he spends most of his time under Hannah's bed when he's not cuddling on our laps.

Vacation in Kentucky

Hannah and I got to spend 9 days in Kentucky visiting my family. Unfortunately, Lindsey didn't get to go this time (he had too much work).

We had a great time. Besides all my brothers and sisters and all but one of my nieces and nephews, I also got to see some of my high school friends. Every time I visit there I forget how humid it gets - and a few of the days it was in the 90's. We got to go swimming twice and even went to Coney Island! Hannah got to try on flower girl dresses for Jason and Amanda's wedding, and I think she had ice cream almost every day, but I lost count.

Hannah had her birthday party at Steve and Ann's house, which was great. The whole family was there (except Jason), and we went swimming. It was a REALLY hot and humid day, so it was great to cool off. Hannah loves swimming, and she had plenty of family to play with her in the water.

Field Day and Skate Night

First - some photos of Hannah at her school's Field Day. This is the first week this year we have had really warm weather. Today it was a beautiful sunny day and 85 degrees!





Very busy times in the Topper home! I'm working full-time in Lindsey's office these days, and Hannah goes to the after-school program at her school for a few hours. She is out of school for the summer after next Wednesday's Banana Split Party (so many parties at this school!).

Last week, her school had their last Skate Night of the year at the local roller skating rink. Here are some photos of the fun:
