I'm going to add more photos as I find them, but these 2 were easily available so I added them. Mom died on March 5 - two weeks ago today. Even as I write the words, I almost don't believe them. I don't think it has really hit me yet. She fell in her kitchen and suffered a skull fracture and a subdural hematoma. She was in the hospital for almost a week when she died, but there was really no chance that she was going to recover.I think because she was so healthy it's even harder to accept. She was 82, but except for her vision problems (she was legally blind due to macular degeneration) she was in great health. She probably could have lived another 10 years, and frankly, that was what I was expecting. She was living on her own in her condo and I talked to her a couple of times a week. Apparently she had fallen a few times in the past few months, but, being Mom, never made a big deal of it.
Another strange twist to the story is that Mom's sister, Lorain, who has been in a nursing home for several years and has been suffering from Alzheimer's Disease for at least 10 years, passed away on March 8, three days after Mom.
